Chiaravalle Abbey Project

Chiaravalle Milanese Abbey

Cultural Heritage Sector: Religious Buildings

The Chiaravalle Milanese Abbey, founded by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux in 1135, is one of the most important Italian monastic complexes, located in Milan within the South Milan Agricultural Park.

Still populated today by the traditional Cistercian monastic community, it is a place of considerable spiritual value and a center of importance from a historical, artistic and cultural point of view. The complex represents a tourist destination of the highest quality, whose value has been significantly increased in recent years thanks to restoration and enhancement interventions.

Thanks to spectacular 360° photographs, detailed fact sheets, interviews, audio, video and downloadable brochures, with the multimedia Virtual Tour it is possible to visit the 13th century church, the cloister, the chapel, the monastic cemetery, the mill, from the comfort of your home. the monks' refectory, the chapter room, the workshop of the monks of Chiaravalle.

The "Virtual guided tour" functionality has been enabled which, thanks to a video-conferencing system integrated into the virtual tour, allows remote guided tours to be carried out in an immersive environment.
Within the Virtual Tour, whose language version (Italian, English, French and German) is automatically set upon departure, the visitor finds a route with 360 degree panoramic photos in high definition and icons with associated multimedia elements (video, photos , audio...), more than 50 audio guides in 4 different languages illustrating the various environments of the Abbey, texts, videos, photos, documents, links to external websites...

The Virtual Tour was developed in "responsive" mode to be viewed on both desktops, tablets and smartphones.
In the mobile version of the Virtual Tour there is also the "Click to Call" button to call the Abbey InfoPoint by telephone, the "Click to Email" button to send an email and the "Click to Nav" button to automatically set the navigator to reach your destination.
The project can be shared on the most important social channels.

The project was supported by Koinè Coop Sociale Onlus, Consorzio Grana Padano, Parco Agricolo Sud Milano, MM Puratore di Milano Nosedo and has hundreds of views every day, including from abroad.
